 Now we can take a look at the outsole, and as you can see, there's not much rubber on the outsole of the Canvara. This is how this shoe has been made for years now, where Saucony really wants to just limit the amount of weight of this shoe, so they only put rubber where those high wear areas are going to be, and we see that in the first two toes in the top of the shoe here, but then we also see it in the heel, kind of where the bevel in the heel is, to kind of help those runners that might heel strike a little bit. But overall, the outsole construction is going to be very minimalistic, and you're not going to have a lot of rubber on this outsole. It does hinder the durability of the shoe slightly

 I really don't know what this elastic one is for, maybe for hooking it onto a backpack

 or something like that, but we have a more traditional pull tab on the back.

 When we look at the laces, they have those lay flat laces, so when you're sitting on

 top of that slightly padded tongue, you're still going to get a very nice lock down.

 When I first tried this shoe on, I was a little hesitant because the upper was so light, but

 I think those laces do a really nice job of securing the foot, and from first try on till

 at almost 100 miles now, I still get an awesome lock down in this shoe.

 For some runners, the overall fit of the upper might run a little slim.

 The Canvara is never really known as being a wider shoe, so if you have a wider foot,

 you might have to grab this shoe in a wide or a 2E or a D for the women, but at the end

 of the day, it is a more versatile peppy shoe, so for those runners that want that slimmer,

 more streamlined fit, this is going to be the type of shoe that you're looking for.

 Now we can take a look at the outsole, and as you can see, there's not much rubber on

 going to shred this shoe, it might only last around 300 miles for certain runners.

 So I've been a big fan of the Canvara line for years now.

 I've used this shoe in high school, college, and now even post-collegently, and I really

 appreciate how Saucony has kept this shoe true to its roots, maintaining it as that

 lightweight, simple, close-to-the-ground daily trainer that really can be used for a wide

 I personally was able to push this shoe 10-plus miles multiple times.

 I also used it for some in-and-out workouts on the track, as well as some peppier runs

 I will say that I do have a pretty efficient stride where I'm lighter on my feet.
