Samsung QN95A

This year I wanted to upgrade to an 85" TV and decided to stick with what I know and went with the Samsung QN95A (equivalent to the US QN90A, but it has the one connect box). I've never been so frustrated with a TV purchase before. The Samsung has great specs on paper, and most reviewers are singing it's praises, however there are some key flaws that only really come into play after *actually using* the TV. First off - DSE, this TV has terrible DSE.

Lastly, I think I would've been swayed to keep the Samsung if we received the European model. The QN95A comes with a One Connect Box with 4 x HDMI 2.1 ports.

Decently bright with a pretty large window given the size of the room. I have really no direct sunlight hitting the screen but ambient light in the daytime is pretty high.

I’d also take a look at the new Samsung QN90a (or qn95a if you’re in Europe). I saw it in store the other day and I was extremely impressed with it. Seems like it’s getting very good reviews too. People saying the black levels are as close to OLED as it gets on an LED TV.

I bought the QN95A, however it has some quite bad technical issues at the moment as well as severe DSE and panel quality issues (all confirmed on multiple different forums). I went through 4 replacements before giving up.

Bought the KS9000 in 2016, looking to buy the QN95A (a better version of the QN90 in Europe).

Big enough upgrade even outside of the HDMI 2.1 ports?

Samsung makes fewer good televisions than Sony.

So the (usa) QN90a is quite a bit better than the x90j, but the next model down Samsung is worse than the x90j.

In aus it may be the qn95a.

I had the Samsung QN95A. After multiple replacements (terrible panel uniformity, signal dropouts etc) I went with the LG C1 and couldn't be happier.

The QN90A in the EU is an ADS panel so it would be even worse. Go for the C1 no question.

- Sony x95j, Samsung QN95a (both are super bright and deliver exceptional HDR experience + overcome any room brightness issues with ease). - Sony A80j or LG C1 (they don’t use the new brighter OLED panel but are both top of the line OLED TVs). From there it all depends on your tastes. Any of them would be excellent TVs.
