Cymbals and Cost

Used zildjian A’s or Sabian AA’s. But them one at a time as budget allows. Cymbals are only tuned once, so it’s best to avoid the pitfall of mid-tier cymbals like meinl classics, Sabian b8, or zildjian S.

any idea why my top hat does this, it's really annoying. either I'm playing wrong, or my hi hats are really bad. still waiting to upgrade to cymbals that didn't come with my kit.

A used set of low to mid range hats won’t do that to you. Find a set of Sabian B8 pro hats. You could probably score some for around $50. They’re bomb proof and don’t sound like shit.

The B8 Sabian was a good choice !!!! The foam in the kick drum should quiet the 18” Bass drum. Kudos

Unfortunately planet z’s, zildjan I series, sabian B8 (which I actually really like the sound of) and an s series high hat, the nicest cymbal I own is an a custom splash but I’m not really a fan of how it sounds

What's the best B8/"budget" cymbal you've ever played?

I kept my Sabian B8 20” ride for around a decade, long after I had broken or got rid of the hats, crashes, China and splash from the same range. Lovely, bright, articulate cymbal, fantastic pop/rock ride.

Would this be a Great Combo to Upgrade To?

What's the best B8/"budget" cymbal you've ever played?

For some genres where you want a bright, attack-y hat, Sabian B8 hats are perfect.

I also have a beautiful Paiste Big Beat 24" which is B8, but it's certainly not budget!

A lot of value for the price

I truly enjoy the entire pack. The hats gave me way more pop than expected. The ride is not to bad the bell was my only complaint. The best was the ozone crash. Outstanding trashy sound, and not flat or dull sounding.
