I’m writing this because I researched this extensively and I always use amazon reviews to buy anything I’m a prime member.  So it came down to this machine or the General 3100 gas model from bjs. Both have 6 months free financing and are about the same price and the reviews are even on both half it’s junk and half it’s great.  So I called both companies and Generac Was horrible and Ryobi knowledgeable and helpful

 I consider I’m fairly experienced and I want to make it easier for other buyers.  I’ll update this after I use it in a couple days.

 So I took a chance and went electric and bought the round deck cleaning attachment . I’ve had one before and two gas power washers about 3000 psi and the deck cleaner and I used to wash pool decks for my swimming pool customers.  I can purge it by inserting the water hose into the opening and running the hose flushes out the soap, but then the water remains. My solution: I removed the screws holding the tank in place and replaced them with wing nuts. This allows me to quickly remove the tank, while still leaving the feed tube in place, and hold it upside down to empty all the water. Leaving the cap off will then allow the residual water to evaporate

 Bleach is a no-no according to the operating instructions, but because the soap feed is downstream from the outlet of the pump, why is bleach going to be a problem? Yes, it could impact the seals on the spray handle and its pressure line, but it surely would not be getting into the pump itself and the interior seals. I should be that a thorough water rinse of the spray handle and pressure line would purge out residual bleach and not cause issues. I ask, because the type of soap I used for my cleaning work, and will continue to use with the remaining work this spring (this is a soap designed for use with pressure washers), cost triple what regular bleach costs. The bleach issue is apparently controversial, and perhaps there are ways the bleach could backfeed into the pump

Throw the ground fault plug away. It broke the first time I used the sprayer.

 Not seeing the unit concerned me more, but again, if I didn’t like it, it’s easy to return to the local store. The price was reasonable, considering I was originally looking at over $400. Plus with the accessories needed (quick connects, various soaps, chemical solutions, foam cannon, surface cleaner, maybe a longer hose) I figured I better add another $150 to $200. HD gave me a $10 certificate so I calculated my total cost at around $420 total

 But the positives far outnumber the few very minor negatives. The price and performance make this a best buy for me. I can highly recommend this product.

 Reviewing here to help others who may be considering it.  I’ve never owned or even operated a pressure washer other than the ones at a coin car wash, and that was over 40 years ago. So I did a lot of research before deciding on this one. Of course I started looking at the main brands, Karcher, Simpson, Generac, Craftsman, Sun Joe and others

 But that is only on one small area of the house with a pitched roof line and stretching or on a step stool will reach it. Maybe additional pressure would have solved that problem. But the positives far outnumber the few very minor negatives. The price and performance make this a best buy for me

Replaced a gas powered Craftsman 3200 PSI pressure washer with the Ryobi 2300 electric. got so tired of having to work on the gas Craftsman every year from it sitting a year at a time. always an issue even though I would store it correctly. finally got tired and bought this Ryobi unit
