Tivo Stream 4K or Onn UHD box?

I like this box so much that I bought another one, for $10 on CL this time, to send to my parents to replace the Apple TV 3G/Chromecast combination that they currently use. Like me, they use a lot of Apple devices (iPads, iPhones) and it seems like Apple TV would be a good fit for them, but sometimes someone comes up with a solution that’s rather surprising, as is the case here. Over the years I’ve found that you cannot let yourself get locked into one brand or platform.

Apparently OLED contrast benefits don’t help much at all if in a room with blinds but without curtains in the south. It was noticeably harder to see darker scenes after the time change and more sunlight. Sure we were used to the laggy Android TV OS on the old Bravia, but wrongly assumed it would have improved on a TV of this price and 4 year difference. We do have a Roku Ultra & Apple TV 4K but wanted to give the new OS a chance first, especially since if you enable the “Apps Only” mode it disables Google Assistant.
