This shoe checks all the boxes for riders seeking a quality all-mountain shoe. The foundation of the shoe is the grippy Rubber Kinetics outsole that clings to the pedals with authority. The Livewire has a well-balanced sole stiffness that provides good power transfer, pedal feel, and walkability. They have a comfortable medium-volume fit that should work for the majority of riders. Ride Concepts also incorporated molded toe and heel protection, along with D30 impact-absorbing inserts in the insole to take the edge trail feedback and impacts. There is a lot to like about this versatile and affordable model, and we are excited to see what the future brings for this relatively young brand. 
While we feel the Livewire is adequately stiff underfoot, it's not the stiffest shoe out there. Those looking for the absolute best pedaling efficiency and power transfer might be better off looking elsewhere. The Livewire is also a little heavy at 458 grams per shoe &#40;size 11&#41;, which may be a deterrent for weight-conscious riders. Beyond that, we found little not to like about this well-rounded and reasonably-priced shoe.

What shoes do you wear for flats?

  -The grip on flat pedals (I use CB Stamps) is decent, but not as grippy as 5-10s. Unlike my previous 5-10 Freeriders, I do experience the random slipped foot. My biggest issue with the rubber soles is the fact that there's no accommodation for hike-a-bike over slippery terrain (wet or dry). Many manufacturers have a different tread pattern at the very front and back to aid walking up or down, but these shoes use the same low profile tread pattern on the entire out sole

  +The uppers are holding up very well, with no signs of splitting seams, separation from the mid sole or out sole, and no sign of significant wear to the uppers.

 Hike-a-bike in anything other than ideal traction is sketchy at best.  +I do like the fact that these shoes have an EVA mid-sole, which many flat pedal shoes lack. The extra shock absorption is really a plus for "sending it", or like me, are fat and ride a hardtail.  +After almost two years the soles are still in very good shape, despite the fact that the Crank Bros pedals have some very tall, very sharp pins

 So I order 1/2 size up. They are still terribly narrow and tight, and barely enough room at the toe. They are uncomfortable to stand in, much less spend hours on the trails in. I hope RC invest in some proper Shoe Last, otherwise they are making good products that are unwearable

very narrow and tight, 1/2 size up still not enough

Ordered size 11 (my normal shoe size) but these fit way too tight! Was like a size 10. Refunded and shipped back to seller and got a pair of Ride concepts Hellion Elite in size 11 and they fit perfectly. Seems as though the size between models run differently.

5) ordered a size 10 they were still too small and my toes were right up against the nose of the shoe without any socks - reordered a size 10.5. Unfortunately they do charge a $5.00+ fee to return the shoes

They are not true to size as mentioned so buyers beware. Received today, 8/2/2021 and although I ordered a 1/2 size larger (usually wear a 9.5) ordered a size 10 they were still too small and my toes were right up against the nose of the shoe without any socks - reordered a size 10.5

They Run a Full Size Too Small

 I've only ridden about 40 miles on them and so far so good. If the sole lasts and is durable I'll definitely buy again vs spending hundreds on more popular brands. Highly recommend.
