Pimax 8KX Review - Is It Worth It In 2022? |First Impressions|

Playing just doesn't feel the same anymore, like I'll play the games but it just doesn't feel real anymore, been playing for about 2 years. Is there a way to rekindle the fun? Or should I maybe think about selling.

The initial magic sort of ended, is there anything that can bring it back?

 The wide fov for the Primax was unusable in my opinion and most people’s opinions on YouTube. Pimax really needs to make these headsets plug and play and ready to go immediately. Time is money And you shouldn’t be wasting it setting up a headset for days, for it to function properly. Especially at this price point!!

Looking for a headset to primarily play flight sims like DCS and MSFS. Seems to me the Index has the best controllers and tracking, albeit a low resolution which isn’t ideal for sims. The Oculus looks cool, but the FB login and ad tracking is dog****. The Reverb’s resolution sounds awesome for sims with light use in other games, but I’ve heard the controllers are meh and the tracking is terrible. 

Any specific thoughts? Trying to get some opinions outside the specs on paper. I’m currently running a 3090 and cost isn’t a factor, although I don’t think I could justify getting a Reverb and Index controllers (if they’re even compatible) unless it’s a *huge* improvement.

Resolution Too Low for Sims?

Looking for a no compromises VR setup for sims and other games. I was stuck between the Reverb G2’s resolution and the Valve Index’s tracking, controllers, etc. It seems to me the best option may be the new Vive Pro 2 with the Valve Index base stations and controllers. Does anyone have any experience with the Vive Pro 2 yet that can provide feedback on it? Mainly looking to see if it’s worthy the extra money over the Index and if there’s anything the lndex headset does better other than microphone and speakers. Currently running an RTX 3090 and a 4K 144hz monitor.

 Even though it's the current highest resolution for the money: Save yourself the hours of frustrating troubleshooting and hardware defects; keep your valuable time safe and stay away from Pimax.

More than 6 months of dealing with their technical support

Just got this email from EB games about the Index! Looks like they'll be available in August.

This is great for a few reasons. Number one being actual availability for a high end headset in Australia but the second being availability of replacement hardware for anyone unfortunate enough to have a failure.
