The new fit on the 2015 model, however, is excellent. It's not too slim and not flared or too loose.

The mysterious person who wrote [this (and then proceeded to delete his/her account) obviously had the same issue, and I recall them saying that Outlier wasn't particularly helpful. What we know for sure is that they still haven't updated their website at time of writing. (I also found the sandstorm colour much lighter on the website than in reality, but I actually prefer it that way). They're still nice shorts don't get me wrong, but I was specifically looking for something light-weight(ish) that would work in the water and for hiking, and the extra weight certainly doesn't help with either of those things (I've noticed these pair to get warm with even a small amount of physical exertion).

They are the same weight or a bit lighter than the slims and pack down to the size of my Outlier New Way Shorts. Not sure about drying capability but I assume it will be quick given the weight of the fabric.

My favorite all use shorts are Outlier New Way shorts, literally the only shorts I own now and i've worn them for 4 years now with little to no visible wear. They just released a 5.5" inseam option as well that I just sprung for to replace my old ones (I love shorter shorts). That being said they are pricey, but worth it IMO for the durability and versatility.

Have like 12 pairs of pants/shorts from them but don't care for any of their other items (I've tried tons).

I haven't tried them out in the heat yet since it just snowed here this week but they feel awesome. No mesh though so if you'd like that then I would go with the baggies which are probably my second favorite short. Ah forgot, if price is no issue check out Outlier New Way Shorts. Very new to Outlier. Bought the New Way Shorts and I like them a lot, now looking for a pant/jean replacement.
