BOOX Note Air 2 long-term REVIEW

It's a lot more pleasurable. It doesn't just have the most basic functionality like the remarkable.

It IS a snappy little e-reader that fits in your pocket for reading on the go. I personally bought this through someone in China, and paid a total of 120 USD for the device (95USD) + DHL (25USD).

Ereader is fine but accessories are not included when buying on Amazon (no sleeve). Seller should change that.

Compare this with other brands such as Onyx/Supernote/Boyue, where you don't have any idea how long the device will be supported, and are on your own if you have technical issues (unless you bought it from Amazon or similar stores). Edit: for instance Remarkable 2, plus cover + stylus is 579 euros. on Amazon.it, Onyx Boox Note Air + cover is 558 euros.

Things got much better!

This is the first time I buy a Boox device. The learning curve has being rather steep. It assumes that you are technically savvy or that you upgraded from a previous model. The manual is basically useless. There is no phone support. You communicate with them via email. On occasions they respond quic...

But it is too damn heavy and provides no stand functionality at all. If this is a factory case came with a $100 ereader, I won't even bother. But for $1000, and with all the material used to build the case, I feel this is a huge missed opportunity.

Too heavy, too slick, too slow

The aluminum case and glass screen in theory seem like good ideas, but they add significant weight to the unit. Compare to their plastic counterparts, this aluminum/glass design is less desirable, making the unit too heavy for an e-reader. Also a no-go is the 20 seconds it takes to boot up the devic...

I think I'm sold on the 10.3"/A5 size. The main purpose of what I want to do is read untranslated manga on it (I guess these mainly will be in CBZ or PDF format), so screen real estate matters. The couple of options I'm considering are the Onyx Boox Note Air 2 and the Fujitsu Quaderno A5 (Gen 2).
