Lenses have the greatest distortion at the extreme edges of the image
Nikon AF-P Nikkor 70-300mm 1:4.5-5.6E ED VR zoom lens I have recently purchased the AF=P 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 lens, after using the older AF-S 70-300 f4.5-5.6 lens for 12 years. I do not yet have much experience with it, but I can report a few things. It focuses much faster than the older AF-S lens, a...

Nikon AF-P Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR Review
We don't knock a lens too much for dim corners, as it's something that's not hard to correct. It's a fine compromise to make in order to achieve such a lightweight design. The Nikon AF-P Nikkor 70-300mm f/4

Surprisingly Good!
While I was hoping for an f4 70-300 I was still pleased to see how quick and sharp this 4.5-5.6 is. I'm using it with my Nikon D500, forgoing the DX version which, while much lighter and smaller, lacks the metal mount and VR switch. This FX version may even be a tad sharper on the DX sensor. Lastly,...

Underrated lens.
I purchased this lens to shoot cross country running meets. I considered longer telephoto lenses that were considerably heavier/bulkier and more expensive. All my choices were researched online comparing lens sharpness, lens speed, weight and cost. I decided on the 70-300mm because, for me, it had t...

Good Glass and Good Value for Price
Warning on Amazon delivery. The box was NOT sealed and the driver threw in the box on the concrete surface in front of my door. This is my first horrible experience with Photo products. The glass is tack sharp after taking a few shots. I used crop sensor to reach further. Note that the lens with hoo...

Affordable Zoom
It's not the F2.8 but it will do for half the price. Just make sure you have the tripod ready with a 4.5-5.6E in low light. Photos are hand held overcast sky and bumped the ISO up to make it happen with a Nikon D850: Nikon AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR Fixed Zoom

Great Lens for the Price
Very surprised by the quality of this lens. Had the legendary 70-200mm f/2.8 VR lens for years but it just got a little to heavy for me to carry. This lens is awesome and it is very close in IQ as the 70-200mm. Very impressed.

Quality Lens at a reasonable price
This lens replaced my DX format lens and I couldn't be happier. The lens is fast enough for my needs and is very sharp for a zoom telephoto. Light weight helps when carrying it around with my D7500 body all day. Highly recommend this lens if you are looking for a great zoom in this focal length rang...

Not my first 70-300, but possibly my last!
Excellent and affordable lens. I upgraded from a Tamron 70-300 VC that never seemed sharp to me. The Nikon is super sharp, focuses really fast, and us very quiet compared to the Tamron. I opted for the FX version to protect my investment on the unlikely event that I someday trade up my camera body f...
