 So this shoe is made up of a mesh and synthetic upper right here, which is very standard. You know you've seen these. If you've had Nike shoes, they've probably used these for a lot of shoes. It's very breathable, it's lightweight, and it's comfortable

 There's plenty of room in this shoe and I didn't find it to be too narrow or too tight. Um, there's great lock down in the middle of the shoe with the tongue as well as the lace system going and also on the back there's a pull tab that you can use to get your foot in. So overall, I really like the fit of the shoe and there wasn't any really concerns that I had regarding the fit. This is one of their latest color, this orange color, but they do have plenty of different other options out there if you're interested in getting

 is also very comfortable with the padding around the heel area as well as the thick tongue and the lugs. This year is a lot better in terms of wet terrain so I didn't have any issues with that. Um, you just have to be careful or running If you do have any like obstructions like tree roots or rocks that you don't step on them because you'll definitely feel that on the bottom of the shoe because it's not as you know, rigid as the other trail shoes. But overall it'll be a comfortable ride

NIKE Air Zoom TERRA KIGER 7 Review

 They've always looked good, felt good, and managed to get me through all sorts of races, runs, and adventures. The new seventh version does bring some newness that thankfully continues to keep the good shoe good. With the complete though subtle redesign, the Seventh Tiger changes the upper layout and overlays slightly, moves the zoom air unit under the forefoot, reimagines the outsole and lugs, redesigns the segmented rock plate, and supposedly improves the fit. Now, honestly, the shoot doesn't feel dramatically different, but does give me a bit more confidence on certain terrain and conditions while still showing off that classic tiger flavor I've come to love

 Protection Now One thing I never really thought I would get out of the Tara Tiger is a lot of protective elements or at least a protective feel underfoot. That definitely came in the Wild Horse package, but the Kiger was always sort of that more minimal, more race oriented. Uh, Trail Runner from Nike. This still gets you plenty of protection though

 I'm excited to see and hear what you guys think.  it has a little bit of reinforced protection here in the forefoot area. There is some extra padding here around the ankle and achilles area. The upper feels very breathable and light and minimal. It's a gusseted one booty upper tongue here so you're going to be able to stay nice and locked in

I did decide to go with the all black version instead of the the cooler looking yellow and orange version just because I knew it was going to get so dirty so quickly

 Like most other Nike trail runners, the toe box is a little bit roomier compared to the road versions of Nike's sneakers. I found the fit around the midfoot to be good. It has a similar lacing system to the prior Kyger models. I was bombing down a lot of hills in this sneaker and it always felt pretty secure

 I'm not actually sure of the stack heights because it feels so much more cushioned than the prior versions. I was assuming that the stack was going to be a lot higher. There might be a small increase in stack, but it's a lot less than I assumed it would be. After looking at them side by side and moving on to the weight, I'm not actually sure of the the weight doesn't actually specify on the website, However, just holding it in hand, it feels slightly heavier, but not a significant amount

I was just curious. This year I ran in the speed 1 (2nd pair), FFE3, Puma Velocity Nitro, Novablast 2, NB Rebel v2, Maxroad 5. 

For me it's the speed for faster days, and the Novablast 2 for everything else. I usually rotate two or three pairs  I am thinking of retiring the Novas, but I find myself reaching for them still. They are smooth, cushioned, springy and durable (the most durable to date for me in terms of wear &amp; tear)

 Well, lighter than my other trail shoes. Just enough cushion that I can do 30ish km long runs in and the React foam is super durable.

I'm a guy and my last three pairs of trail shoes have been Altra Lone Peaks. In terms of fit, cushion, shape, traction, I love these shoes!! But they keep failing on me:

* Lone Peak 3 -- 450 miles
* Lone Peak 4 -- 251 miles
* Lone Peak  4.5 -- 334 miles

Each pair has blown out on the right foot (I'm a righty) at the seam between the sole and the upper, right at the ball of my foot. I run trail shoes exclusively on trails, or on snowy roads in the winter for the traction.

What should I try next? Anybody had better luck with the 5s? Another model from Altra? Something else that's similar to the Lone Peak?

What I'm looking for:

* no drop
* wide toe box
* decent traction on bare rock
* moderate cushioning
* neutral (not stability/motion control, etc)
* Decently light weight

Busted the side out of three successive pairs of Altra Lone Peaks... what should I try next?

Hi all I’m looking for a pair of trail shoes for hard/dry trails. I live around lots of fields and farmland and as the weather is drying up, the mud has too and I’m feeling pains in my legs which I think may be to do with running in soft, road shoes on harder, jagged trails. 

Does anyone have any recommendations for trail shoes? I’d like them to be comfy but also supportive and I’m not interested about going fast.

For me - New Balance RC Elite 2. Accommodating fit and not too narrow. Breathable upper without any hot spots. Good bounce/cushion from the fuel cell foam that can accommodate some slower paces; and a carbon plate for a little extra oomph when you want to pick up the paces. 

Honorable mention - Nike Zoom X Invincible. The Zoom X foam really makes this shoe. Wide enough heel and forefoot areas to cruise along at a steady pace. Not the most breathable shoe which can be a challenge in hotter months, but not the worst either. 

For context, I'm 5'10", \~210 lbs, and have been running consistently for \~2.5 years.
