TL/DR: don’t buy they refuse replace the device and support is lacking empathy and troubleshooting skills.  but that's for a whole other video. Right, So there's an attachment for the floor stand that you can mount to the wall to help stabilize the stand. You Get the floor-stand bars with an attachment for a third leg, and the power brick. The Floor stand also doubles as a cord management system, as the power cord is built into the stand itself,, which is a nice little additional safety feature

 So For instance,, the breathing monitoring and the measurements tracking,. They have limited lifespans. So Once your baby outgrows Nanit's sleepwear, and/or her crib,, these features become obsolete. And As a parent of kids in this category, I Really wanted to see some updates to features that I still use every day

 Now, For me,, this helps take a lot of the guesswork out of why your baby may be struggling to sleep through the night.. With The Insights package, you get access to sleep history, which includes stats around how long your baby slept,, how many times you visited the crib at night,, how many times your baby woke up,, as well as short video clips of any movement or sound activity that happens at night. It also tracks movement in the form of a heat map

 Getting This feature up and running is pretty straightforward. The app, in my opinion, does a nice job of walking you through the setup steps.. However, in full disclosure,, we don't currently have a crib set up in our house

That has helped our anxiety some. My phone is right next to me with the nanit on night mode so I can hear every little sigh and movement from his crib. I don’t think I would feel ready to move him out without it. Make sure you have a good monitor to help with the transition

I know that it's recommended that you room share until at least 6 months, but I'm starting to wonder if it's time to have our LO sleep in his crib in his own room. He is going to be 4 months next week and I am EBF. We have him sleeping in a pack and play next to our bed. It's convenient for night feedings because I just have to reach over and feed him in bed. But I'm finding it hard to get solid sleep most nights because I will wake every time I hear him kicking around. I'm also wondering if it's affecting his sleep.

Just curious if others are still room sharing and if not at what point did you transfer your LO into their own room? How did the transfer go? Did you notice a difference in your LO's sleep?

Room sharing

 I hate to say it but it has more cons than pros.. The app is constantly buffering and when the wifi happens to go out (rarely) it's very difficult to get it connected again. I've contacted support multiple times with little help and I've done everything in regards to troubleshooting

We are now looking into buying an IPad because we like to have eyes on her constantly but then are unable to use our phones

 I don't know if it's going to align with your parenting style, but I believe that it can bring you value too. That's all I've got for you guys.  We've got motion alerts and sound alerts. You can toggle the sensitivity of this if you're getting too many alerts. Now, I know a lot of parents who like these, but for me, I'll usually just run with the sound alerts or just leave them off altogether. The next feature is going to be background audio monitoring, and that's the feature that I like more

 I won't dive too much more into the breathing word tech since I made an entire video on this alone and how it works, but if you want to see that it is linked below. Uh, now. while I think the breathing wear tech is cool and maybe for some parenting styles, it's always more important to abide by the abcs of safe sleep which is alone with no pillows, blankets, bumpers, or stuffed animals on the baby's back is preferred and always in a crib, so don't rely too heavily on the monitoring alone. Um, some of the footage, by the way, does show our son with stuffed animals, just crib blanks or whatever he's two, so he's well over that 12-month threshold

 Uh, there's an onboard light and sound library, both of which are cool, but we ended up just using the hatch rest a little bit more. There is also two-way talk, but that's not a function I found particularly useful until the later years with our toddler when we talked to him. Uh, not so much during the infant stage though. Now one of the newest features here is growth tracking, and you actually don't need to have insights enabled to access this, but it does only work Uh, when paired with their sheets, which unfortunately, those are sold separately

Prime Day (and competitor) deals?

The monitor was great for the first year. I liked the features like background noise, being able to review crib activity (even if it wasn’t accurate often), the push notifications. However I’ve now had the monitor for about a year and a half and I’ve been disappointed with it since the one year mark. Once you loose those extra features from the Nanit insight I just don’t think it’s worth the price tag!! The camera isn’t performing to it’s same level and the majority of the features I loved would cost me the literal cost of a new camera to keep

Ever heard of the Nanit camera? It's ridiculous. Like ridiculously amazingly over the top. I love it. It has so many unnecessary features it basically brushes my teeth in the morning and burps my baby. It also costs as much as it would cost to feed a small country, so it's a wee bit "extra" as the kids would say. 

Anyways. Recently the Nanit cam app surprised me with a video montage that it messaged my way. What on earth, I wondered. 

Let's back up. You see, the camera actually records footage when it detects motion near the crib and it also senses when your baby's been removed from it. It's great, cause I can go back and watch the one-man Three Stooges routine of my husband trying (and failing) to lower the side of baby's crib. 👌 

Back to the surprise. I get a little notification icon with a video titled "*Baby's Name's* Morning Pickups!" (Wtf?) Confused, I open it and play it. 

It turns out to be a video montage of a week's worth of me lifting my baby out of the crib every morning. It's set to twinkly happy music with a big sunshine banner at the bottom and is clearly meant to be a delightful surprise filled with adorableness, smiles and cheerful morning reunions. 

Instead, this video is fabulous comedy gold. I'm not a morning person, and I have a four month old with sleep regression m'k? Y'all, these morning pickups are me sleep-drunk stumbling to the crib in various states of undress with my hair mad-scientist'ing off the side of my head, using one hand to unhook a nursing bra and the other to unvelcro my squirming screaming infant from her sleep tomb (swaddle). In more than one clip I can be seen palming the mattress bemusedly to assess if some mystery dampness is a blowout, spit up or just a touch of sleep sweat. In another, the night vision captures me fumbling around in the dark trying to find my baby's face to stuff the pacifier in the correct hole. In one confusing moment I inspect some sandy grit I find on the mattress only to discover it's discarded dried sleep crusties from the corner of baby's eyes. (*Twinkle music*)

This moment of momma-realness inadvertently brought to you by Nanit. 🙌 Honestly, it was so ridiculous they should use it in the marketing.
