 Oh this waters too dirty you can't you can't drink this water, so the thing about hollow fibers that make them a really good filter media is that it is basically an exclusion device. We sized the hollow fibers. They have small pores in them that the water is filtered through. If those pores are smaller than any virus, which is the smallest micro, biological contaminant, we can have if they're smaller than that nothing can get through

 Everything was out there and it was all going right into the water source. Estamos viendo is an iguana samokhina porque, esta, yes, a puto, el agua what'd. She say about the water is dirty she's into the waters. Dirty you kept saying like

 It was so gross so gnarly, so we just pumped the guardian out of probably one of the worst dirtiest water sources we found so far. So the cool thing about this thing is we designed it to be able to be cleaned while you're pumping. So your pre-filter is here to keep your pump from having to do all the work, but it does become clogged. But the nice thing is a couple of quick swishes and it's back and good to go

 On the other end of the pump, is this float here and then you also have your screen: that's going to filter out your sediment and give you that nice, clean, filtered water, so again, very simple design. It is very durable, they say you can drop it from up to six feet and it'll withstand it. It also does have a replaceable filter, I'm pretty sure you can order a new filter. I believe the filter will do up to ten thousand litres of water

 Here you have a little cap that you unscrew and then you can either use the little dimple there and put it. You know put it over a regular, just 20 ounce water bottle or so, but it'll also screw on to most of your containers, such as a Nalgene, see just screw it on there and pump away and you've got fresh, clean purified and filtered water. On the other end of the pump, is this float here and then you also have your screen: that's going to filter out your sediment and give you that nice, clean, filtered water, so again, very simple design. It is very durable, they say you can drop it from up to six feet and it'll withstand it

Difficult to use long-term

 So I thought we would get some of this dirty pond water and fill up this canister and we would see the little microbes under the microscope from the pond water and then we would filter the water out and we would see if those microbes go away. I'M not on microscopy, I'm just a hobbyist. I have no idea if this is gon na work or not, but I thought it would make an interesting video. I haven't seen anybody else

All right today, I want to test out my MSR Guardian water filter. I thought we would do it in a kind of an interesting way, so I have a I bought a microscope and the MSR Guardian water filter. It'S a hiking water filter. It'S supposed to filter out bacteria and cysts and viruses, and I can't I can't show you viruses, because that would take an electron microscope, but I do have a fairly nice light microscope

 He looks like he's alive too, is 40 times on that guy. It'S moving around fast mover coming in difficult to get that dude in focus. You can see all of those little creatures floating around in there moving doing stuff doing little bug things whatever they are little microbe things, okay, so let's get on with this. So this is the MSR Guardian, water filter

 So we're gon na take the bottom off of the Nalgene and we're gon na pour it in there, and so that's the water that we're gon na sample that should be drinkable water, all right, okay, and so again this is uh. This is the water that we just filtered. This is distilled water here and I'm just gon na prepare this slide. These are fresh out of the box, but what am I know I got to cover slips there

When I first opened the box and tried out this product I had a slight problem. But now I really love this product.
