MSR Elixir 4

We (a family of 4, kids are 10 and 6) have an MSR Elixir 4. We were thinking of getting the papa hubba since its lighter, but ended up getting the Elixir since its more robust. We don't hike too far with the four of us, but have been out for a few weekend hikes. It splits well, with my wife and I carrying the fly and inner, the 10 year old carrying the poles and the 6 year old carrying the pegs and footprint (and not much else).

Msr elixir is a good all around tent. Not as lite as the hubba hubba but more durable and will put up with a lot of abuse.

We love the MSR Elixir 2! It has a footprint, two access points, loads of internal pockets for storage, and enough space for two that it doesn’t feel cramped. Would recommend!

MSR elixir. 2 or 3 man depending how long the trip and how much space you need. Used it on several trips. Not the lightest though. See this for good info

MSR Elixir is a great choice. We’ll build, easy to setup and roomy. I use a MSR Elixir 2 for two people and it easily accommodate us with our gear in the vestibules.

It’s reasonably priced and not lightweight but also not stupid heavy.
