Successful first trip with the winter tent on the Superior Hiking Trail
Quick 2 night trip near Split Rock. Testing out some new winter gear including this tent, the MSR Access, and a zero degree bag. They worked great. Surprisingly there was only a couple inches of snow which allowed us to enjoy a long run on Saturday along the SHT.

Light, Condensation Issues, Bad Poles

What kind of tent do I need for winter camping?
I bought a MSR access for winter camping but haven’t taken it out yet. To me it seemed like the cheapest, lightest weight option for below tree line.
Winter tents are so expensive and don’t pack down very small.
