Lastly, price. In my opinion, the pants are priced fairly and I believe what you get is a pretty competitive. The main consideration would be whether or not you want to step it up to GoreTex or eVent membrane pants, which for the most part are roughly twice the cost. In my opinion, unless you have specific need for those pants, the PreCips will do just fine

Full-featured at a decent price point

  Bought these for my dad. We discovered last year while fishing He has about 6 pairs of yellow rain gear in the boat that don't fit him. AND we ended up pulling out every single rain pant this spring when it started pouring rain trying to find the ones that fit him. Then he had to take his shoes off to get his legs in the old pants

 He is 230 lbs and 6 ft. He does have a belly but the pants fit great because of the elastic waist.

 NOW he's got a pair that fit him and that he can unzip the cuffs/bottoms to jam feet with tennis shoes on through the leg holes instead of having to remove his shoes. We bought them big enough so that he can wear jeans on underneath. He is 230 lbs and 6 ft. He does have a belly but the pants fit great because of the elastic waist

I purchased the medium and the large. The medium fit just a tad smaller than I like, but would be fine for summer use over lightweight pants or shorts. The waist was just right. The large fit better for winter use over a layered pant system, but the waist was just a bit too loose, and there is not enough adjustment to tighten them to where they would not fall down

 pack on.  I've since gone on multiple conditioning hikes with the same pack weight and again, the pants felt comfortable every time.

Like several others have mentioned, the lack of a drawstring gave me concerns.  At 5'9", 165lbs, the mediums fit okay but when I initially tried them on it was weird putting my hands in my pockets as the pants didn't feel secure.
