Average system

Just had my Creative Labs Gigaworks 750S blow its amp and replaced with this Logitech system. Very disappointed with the muddled sound. High end is below average, bass is bass--no great distinction. Wish I could have heard them before It bought it. I would have moved on and kept on looking.

Thinking of upgrading my PC audio

You'll be more "surrounded" by the sound with 2 properly placed speakers than 5 in the corners. I will always recommend the Z906 set at their price point, but not for what you're trying to do in this room. A soundbar is for people who want to improve their TV sound, but don't have room for separate speakers.

Absolutely amazing while it lasted

Logitech Z906 upgrade (5.1)

You don't need a modern AVR. You can use an older unit, hook it up via optical and get lossy 5.1. If your standard of good audio is the Logitech Z906 you won't even notice the lack of lossless audio. Soundbars are not not home theatre, nobody on this sub is going to recommend spending 800 euro on one.
