This is one of those cases where you get what you pay for and is worth investing in something worthwhile. I've seen too many postings in here where people post stuff about how their Chinese no-name brand projectors crap out on them. Anyway, LG PF50KA or LG PH550 are my first go-to recommendations if you want a mini projector that isn't garbage.

Nice picture with decent settings and controls offered for a low end projector. Brightness is also decent for the price. Dim or dark only. No direct light or it'll wash out. Have one of these and it’s pretty nice. Also portable with a 2.5 hour battery. Great for outdoor movies.
