LG 38GL950G-B: It's the predecessor to the 38GN950-B but seems to perform better than its succesor. Might be more difficult to get. The lack of consistency in the industry as well is also making it more hard. I believe it is better to get an older gen monitor as the newer generations are not per sé better versions.

Personally I would choose the AW3821DW just for the extra support on such an expensive product but if you want the “best” colour, brightness, response time, etc. then LG definitely make the best panels so the 38GN950 may be the best option for you (or the 38GL950G for native G-Sync).

The 32:9 aspect ratio is the equivalent of 2 x 27” 16:9 monitors side by side. My personal all-round favourite 38” gaming monitors are the LG 38GN950 and the Dell AW3821DW: - these monitors have 6.1M pixels which is 3/4 of the way to 4K’s 8.3M pixels and is about 20% higher than the 4.9M pixels if your current 3440x1440p monitor so just be aware that you’ll have a similar 20% fps drop. The Dell is 144Hz, the LG 160Hz and, for a slightly less responsive but higher refresh option the Acer Predator X38P is 175Hz but I’d choose the LG personally (or the Dell for the warranty).

LG customer support was completely usless. The support person said he was not qualified to answer how to make setting adjustments for this monitor. He works for LG customer support and hw does not know how to make setting adjustments for monitor. USLESS customer support. Called twice on this issue. ...

* Refresh rate and response times: The LG 38GN950 overclocks to 160hz with no issues at all. In addition the response times are great and I havent noticed any ghosting or overshoot (I have it on fast, basically the default config).
