I'm a relatively experienced do-it-yourselfer but a total newbie when it comes to multi-tools. I just never owned or had any use for a multi-tool before this purchase. I only bought it because I needed something to take with me on cross-country flights in case a need for mechanical repairs arises.

Leatherman Rebar is my choice for camping. Not too big or heavy. Not too small either, still feels sturdy. Simple construction and easy to clean.

It feels sturdy in the hand. I know Leatherman has a reputation for durability. It may pan out in the end.

I have a similar story. I found out recently about their 25-year warranty and remembered I had an original PST that I don't know how old was. It had some broken blades and I don't even know why I kept it. But I went ahead and filled out a warranty claim and sent it in and within a couple weeks I had a new Leatherman Rebar.

After unboxing, I started to pull tools out to test them. I immediately noticed that my hands were turning black. Black paint was rubbed off of the REBAR. If you plan on carrying a separate knife anyway (which many of us do), the Leatherman Knifeless Rebar is a solid choice. You get scissors instead of the redundant blade on the regular Rebar.
