Korua Shapes Cafe Racer

I didn't get to ride the Cafe Racer in proper powder but I was able to get some turns in some windblown sections and it still kept it smooth and easy ...

Overall, very pleasantly surprised with this thing. I do like it.

(I’m a snowboard nerd/hoarder) But I really like seeing Koruas out in the wild.

Can spot a Cafe Racer/Dart/Pencil.

Their white boards + red bases are pretty iconic.. and people riding them.. you know are serious (or want to be) carvers

I wouldn't buy a Cafe Racer. At your size you probably want the 164, which has a 278 mm waist which is WIDE. Speaking from experience with a size 10 foot, the CR's doable but lot of board to move around. I'd avoid Koruas unless you have big feet or are a ripping carver, in general they trend wide and demand good technique.

Korua cafe racer is a great directional carving board. It might not be the best thing for low angle powder but it holds a turn like train tracks and I’ve had a lot of fun with it on steep technical terrain(especially with fresh snow on it.)

If you’re still in the learn/be comfortable level for carving and speed… the Cafe Racer may be too much board to handle. Full camber, stiff, not the most forgiving. The Otto is softer, less camber and has rocker tips. Maybe that’s a more approachable Korua.

Korua Cafe Racer for groomer days. Salomon Super 8 or Weston Backwoods for random/variable conditions. Fjell MT1365 for bigger alpine stuff. Moss SW for deep days. Thinking about adding a Nitro Squash as another alternative for variable conditions.

As their website states, "All of our snowboards grew out of a deep appreciation for turning on snow." Personally, I love my Cafe Racer. It a really big board, 164cm long and nearly 28cm wide at the waist (a full cm wider than my 164.5W TRice Pro), built to thrive in powder conditions and to allow you to get really low on your turns. I would describe it as a hard charging, big mountain, powder snowboard that can absolutely carve up the groomers.

Love it. It's more forgiving than I expected it but I'm not a lazy rider so for someone that likes to cruise it may feel more demanding? I've enjoyed it on powder days too. I have a Bataleon Surfer which is not a bad carving board but on days where it will be and even mix powder/carving I'll grab the Cafe Racer.
