 On top of that there's some really cool stuff up close that I think is worth pointing out. Now you've got a strap here, like you would expect with most quilts, that you can put underneath an inflated sleeping mattress to help secure it in the middle, and that's great, but here's a couple of things that I really really like about it. There's a kind of extra collar area here to help keep you warm around your head and shoulders, which I really like, but come and have a look up close here. You've got hanging hooks here, here, here, in various points here, and actually the little Pertex label for Katabatic here at the end, you can thread a little bit of cord paracord through as well

 The first one is you've got a choice, if I turn it over, you've got a choice of fills and sizes, and I think from memory I've got a regular here. I'm not the biggest of people, I'm about five foot eight, I'm five foot seven, and I think this whole system comes in under 19 ounces, which for an 800 fill sleeping bag rated down to pretty cold temperatures is really good, but here's what I love. The baffles here, which are those stitch bits which keep the fill together, are not cross-baffled, so you could argue, well hang on a second, this fill is going to move around quite a lot and it could leave like bare patches, and you're right, but that's also the advantage of this, because depending on how you're sleeping on your side, on your back, where you feel cold, you can custom squish this fill around to be thicker where you want it and not so thick where you don't want it, and so I actually see this as an advantage for somebody that's quite an astute kind of camper and is no specifically where they get cold. What I've also noticed, if you look here, the baffles down by the foot area are bigger and they're much more filled, so again, what Katabatic have done is they've said, hey, this is the area where people get cold the most, so let's give them a bit more warmth around their legs, around their feet, and also you'll notice from the quilt's point of view, you're completely enclosed in that section as well, also super awesome

 This is also the first time I've seen anything other than diving using Pertex.

 I've actually been using Pertex for quite a few years in diving undersuits.

 I'm a search and rescue diver, so I wear a dry suit with an undersuit with it, and I

 would say for the last 15 years I've worn a suit that's made of Pertex, which has got

 really good thermal properties, but it's also really good at wicking moisture away, so it's

 kind of cool to see this showing up on a sleeping product as well.

 And then final things, you've got a draw cord here to pull it in tight around your shoulders,

 You've got a draw cord to keep things tight around your shoulders when you need it, and

 they provide a stuff sack to pack it all the way in, so all quilts are not built the same.

 This has to be one of my favourite quilts of all time.

 I think this is one of the ones that's pretty much convinced me that the sleeping bag is

 dead, particularly if you're a lightweight, kind of multi-day through hiker like I am,
