Update of my last review

 I loosened the screw at the bottom of the fan head and was able to tilt it. I now have the fan working and it seems to work well. However, the directions for the fan leave MUCH to be desired. Although this fan is actually easy to put together, once you figure it out, the directions are not very clear

 Edit: Apparently, the extension pole is INSIDE the other pole. Nowhere in the directions does it tell you this. I loosened the screw at the bottom of the fan head and was able to tilt it. I now have the fan working and it seems to work well

Two fans, neither work; EDITED

 Trying to find a strong fan that is safe, Stable and can be left on for a while with me not in the room. That’s what has to be, given our warming environment,  It’s a nice looking fan and I wish they gave it a little bit more power that would make it perfect I hope the engineers will do that we need it and we don’t have a lot of Safe fans that will last I’m hoping to swell but as I said it doesn’t cool very well.

Update on Honeywell 1 year later

We needed an additional fan stat in this heatwave. Last month we bought a Lasko fan and wanted to try a different brand to compare. Below are observations between this Honeywell and Lasko 18" pedestal fan:  Speed/Power: Lasko has 5-blades, 4-speeds. Speed 1-2 are similar and bumps up at 3 but speed 4 is pretty similar to speed 3

Honestly, you really only need 3 speeds

  Noise: Perhaps due to the larger diameter of the Lasko blades, the Lasko fan is really loud. We have it set up in the bedroom as a surrogate white noise machine. It drowns out the outside noise when we have the window open. Not sure if it's the LA paper walls, but the vibrations of the fan can be heard in the next room

Quieter than most fans

VERY STURDY, MADE OF METAL NOT PLASTIC, HEAVY AND WIDE SECURE METAL BASE

 Unusual fan speed options, so there's a bit of a learning curve there.  Has variable speed settings, and I don't just mean low, medium & high but you can choose a setting that will constantly vary the speed between high and low to mimic a natural breeze. An interesting feature.  Height of the stand is adjustable by about 6 inches
