Glocks do not have safety’s on their weapon so it needs to be holstered or unloaded at all times to prevent accidental discharge. If he’s afraid of the area you live in, I’d suggest you ask him to leave the gun in his personal vehicle which is parked. He can unload and lock away his weapon before he enters your home.

Looking for a nightstand/winter carry pistol

My work gun and the most comfortable in my hand is a Glock 45 (19X, but black. Full size capacity, compact barrel) and it is magnificent as CC too, and also definitely gets some use in the summer. Especially with Hawaiian shirts/baseball jerseys.

I've been shooting with a 407c on a Glock 45 i picked up recently for USPSA and I love it, but I'm still not ready to commit to optics on a carry gun, both for cost and failure point reasons. I think I'll just buy a P365XL in a year or two. Won't put a light or a dot on it.
