Continuing to use Fitbit vs competitors
On prime day I saw a great deal on a Garmin vivoactive 4 (to my understanding it's their sort of Jack of all trades but master at nine, day to day type watch). I'm absolutely in love with it. The UI is so much better than fitbits, there's so many more features, much more customizability, more accurate tracking on just about everything (except sleep maybe).

Rock Solid and Attractive . . .
I'm a watch dinosaur - I like automatic movements and the occasional quartz watch. Have avoided the "Smart Watch" fad up til now. But I've been wearing a Garmin VivoSmart fitness band with a regular watch and was looking for something that could carry off both purposes at the same time . . . without...

what fitness tracker do you use (if any)
Garmin Vivoactive 4, the main draw for me was being able to go for runs or any do activity without my phone. It has built in GPS and I can down load music/podcast directly to it no need to carry a phone or pay for a separate phone service like a apple watch. Also has better stats than the Fitbit. I found the free Garmin Coach to be very useful, I used it to train for my first half marathon.

Best Running Watches Under or Around 300$
I use a Garmin Vivoactive 4 for all the things you mentioned. My last watch was the Vivoactive 3 music. I've used them to train for 5k to marathon and gran fondo bike rides. Plus lap swimming, golf, yoga, strength training and water intake tracking.

So basically, if we swipe up it'll have another little kind of data page right here, which is gon na, be like a little countdown pie, chart sort of thing going on right here and then, if we go up, this is gon na, be very familiar with the Calories timer, as well as heart rate, then here's gon na be your graphical heart rate right there. So it's kind of neat that this is kind of just integrated within the data pages. I really really like that

Great for what I was looking for
Edit: I've had and used the watch for over a year now. Only noticeable degradation has been with the bluetooth connectivity. Used to have no problems with music skipping or sounding choppy. In the last 6 months, its gotten quite a bit worse with multiple skips (~500ms) per song. No issues with music...

Whoop Question
I am a big fan of the garmin vivoactive 4, has all the same metrics as the whoop strap as well as smart watch functionality. Additionally it can be paired with tons of other things, which I use to connect a chest strap hr monitor which gives better readings on workouts.
Great features but very buggy
I had 2 different versions of the Samsung smart/activity watches, the Samsung activity metrics were always wrong. So I got this Garmin watch, it was cheaper and the focus was more activity tracking over smart features. The Garmin Watch started out great and the health app was better than Samsung's. ...
