 I Thought I saw a velociraptor One of the more recognizable things with the Spaz 12 from a appearance is definitely the overfolding stock Mostly the stock can fold away obviously for storage The hook has two different purposes one of the purposes you could use two different ways and explain one is just a handle for whatever That's good for but if we go ahead and fold this out move this hook off to the right Or for one off for a one-handed operation. You could use it on the back of your tricep, or you could also fold this down one One-handed operation resting on your forearm So if you find a use for that fantastic if you're shooting out of a vehicle or whatever else if you want You could also do away with the hook totally Put that in your pocket and then you get a little bit more of a sleek profile Overfold that up top and that is a pretty recognizable silhouette right there Although it's not exactly meant to shoot skeet. It certainly can I'll take it I guess um see what else we could blow up I'll take it. I'll take it

 Hey, this is Texas Plinking. This is my new Spaz 12. I'm looking forward to telling you guys a little bit more about it

 But first things first, there's a couple things I need to take care of so excuse me

 So yeah the Frankie Spaz 12 a pretty special gun I'm so glad I got my hands on a couple months ago

 This is the first time I'm shooting it. It's the first time it's being shot in 30 years

 They are not exactly cheap. Not many were imported

 I think about 1800 and so I had to pay quite the premium a couple months ago and

 Then some more to get it working but all is good because I'm very appreciative that Sonoran Desert Institute

 All right, so the Spaz 12 so the Frankie Spaz 12 is an Italian shotgun it was made from 1979 to 2000

 So the Frankie Spaz 12 is an Italian shotgun. It was made from 1979 to 2000 only 1800 were imported to the u.s.

 Only 1800 were imported to the u.s. Although they're very well known from some stuff like Terminator

 Drastic Park or maybe more so my generation those from Call of Duty battlefield and you know other video games like that

 It was known as the special purpose automatic shotguns where it's got its name in 12 for 12 gauge shotgun due to the assault weapons

 Ban, that's the reason only 1800 got into the United States and by the time that was lifted in 2004

 One of the more recognizable things about the Spaz 12's operation is the ability to go from pump action traditionally to a semi-automatic

 Shotgun reason they did that is they designed it from the ground up to shoot semi-auto with the lethal round slugs double out buck the likes

 but they wanted the option to be able to shoot less than lethal rounds whether that be

 Bean bags or whatever and it wouldn't have the power to cycle that so with a press of a button pull it back once

 You have a traditional pump action. You can shoot the lethal stuff as well in pump action mode if you want

 But it's meant to run and semi-auto with birdshot. What I found is it likes pump action as well

 So you need some really potent stuff to get that thing to cycle

 I've been using federal double out buck and it seems to work pretty good. I

 After today and kind of restoring it because it had some wearable parts that

 That sells these parts I restored it and today was the first day out with it and oh my gosh if you could justify

 The higher premiums on a spaz 12. I know it's crazy, but you're gonna have quite a gun recognizable through hollywood video games

 But just to shoot man. It's just so freaking cool

 So I'm enjoying mine you guys will see plenty of it because it is a keeper that does it for this video

I have a taste for the obscure

 Accuracy may be hindered by the barely average sight system. Standard 24 grams clay shot shells do not reload the gun at all, and the 28 gram loads are constantly jamming. The manual states that at least 32 to 34 gram loads are needed to ensure semi-auto operation. Obviously, considering its age, it's not advisable to use ammunition with steel shot
