downsides of the 1301 is the fact that it has very limited accessory availability. Parts and accessories, at least as of right now.

Moving along, the trigger itself is very crisp and it's great, no complaints about the trigger.

I'm super happy with my Beretta 1301 comp. The tavor 12 is a fun system.

Stick with a brand that has been proven and tested. Semi auto: beretta 1301 or Benelli m4, but those are 1500+ dollar guns. They’re great, you get what you pay for. Caliber wise, I’d stick to 12 gauge unless you want something less powerful for whatever reason.

Beretta 1301. It's 2021, beretta has cracked the reliability issue and frankly the pump shotguns available aren't that great these days. Mossberg 500/590 was always just ok and the first new production remingtons appear to have picked up right where they left off which is to say they're junk. Unless you wanna track down a pre 2010 870 the beretta is the best game in town this minute.

Aridus finally started making parts in their new shop, and somehow Beretta 1301 handguards weren't out of stock 30 minutes after they came up. Got one in FDE for my competition/ coyote gun.

The Beretta 1301 is arguably best of breed with the right balance of weight, reliability, and cost. The Benelli offerings are excellent products, but at almost double the price there isn't much they offer.

Or if you want to save a bit of money get a Beretta 1301. Both are gas operated, so that slightly helps with felt recoil in my experience. You can also get reduced recoil buckshot loads or light bird loads (for practice only). As far as reliability, both of those will be fine.
