I know you can’t get rid of pores but I’m wondering is there anyway to make them smaller? I use La Roche Posay products. They keep my acne mostly at bay but I feel like my pores are just so large. Part of it is genetic, but just wondering if there’s anything else I can do at home to help. Thanks!

I made the boots work so I could get out there, but I want to find something that won’t hurt the soles of my feet on rock beds and hidden obstacles. The boots I had kept my feet very dry though.

My budget is around $100. I know $150 is what most nice boots cost. I have seen the waterproof Columbia and North Face boots for around $100 so may order a few on amazon to try them out. Any opinions on those entry-level boots? Are they really made for shoveling driveways or will it work for me. 

Ideally these boots can be work year round and I just get warmer socks or something. I was able to hike in those Clark’s all year in north central NY. 

Speaking of socks, what should I wear in the winter? Sock liners and wool socks? How thick?

Last winter I hiked about 10 times in the winter. Between 10-40 degrees and 5-10 miles a time. Max snow height of 1 foot. Never got wet feet. I wore a pair of Clark’s leather waterproof work boots with a too-soft rubber sole. Every big rock hurt my foot. Looking for recs for the upcoming season.

 Nicely made socks and of excellent materials. As liners or casual, indoor wear, these will be very good items.

I’ve had the Red Wings for 9 years, but the real BIFL are the Fox River socks. I’ve had the same five pair through Ranger school, two deployments and 8 years of daily wear. No holes or signs of weakness.

Size

My sock rotation since 2010. Fox Rivers and Darn Tough socks rotated daily. All 8 show no signs of wear/tear. The only socks I wore for college, Recon school, Ranger school, 2 combat deployments, and now office life. Should last forever.

Made things worse

Got 12 pairs of these Darn Tough Socks on Feb 14th this year. They haven't held up well. Anyone know how much of the pain the warranty application and process is?

 Now, I usually dont have a blister problem but I do have a sweaty feet problem when I wear my boots with my wool socks in the winter. Everyone knows that when your feet sweat and your socks get wet your feet can hecome unbearably cold. Well let me tell you, I ride a bike through midwest winters and my feet are cold no more! I take off my boots when I get home and my wool socks are soaked but my feet are dry from these sockliners and therefore still warm! These fox river liners seem to be of great quality too. I can wear these for multiple days with just gradual loss in wicking

 Very well constructed with toe seams on the outside - where they can't rub and irritate. Sized accurately. Breathe extremely well. They don't seem to wear out no matter how I abuse them
