I disagree, my Fitbit versa has a worse time GPS tracking, died from my 5ft pool (water ingress), and was at times slow/clunky. Integration with iPhone was simply not as seamless as it was on android. Conversely, the Apple Watch just works.

While you are swimming, you get a timer. You don't get the number of laps, the mileage total, nor can you program workouts. It is awful. With the original Versa you AT LEAST had the mileage for your swim.
