I just listened to a few songs (it’s paired with a FiiO E10K), and I’m so so impressed by just how... clear? everything sounds! I feel like I can hear so many details in songs that I’ve listened to a million times. It also seems way easier to focus on individual parts of the music if I want to!

recently got the fiio e10k as a budget AMP/DAC to fit my needs. So far, just using it with the starfields and the m50x makes listening much more enjoyable than just pluggin it into the already existing headphone jack of the laptop. I'd probably be sticking with the e10k for a while as current conditions don't allow me to get open backs.

I like the hardware. Software wise, there are some issues. FiiO offers drivers for the E10K, but they can cause blue screens (on Windows PCs). With that out of the way, after all was said and done i ended up with a Fiio e10k, dt770 250 ohm, and finally this setup which is a Schiit Magni Heresy and Modi and dt990 600 ohm. the E10k powered the 250 fine enough but i notice a big difference with the schiit stack.

I like the audio quality, but under Windows 10 I'm having two significant and weird problems. The worst is that when I add another audio device, like a bluetooth headset, while using the Fiio sometimes all the devices on my USB hub will stop working (mouse/keyboard/etc. suddenly fail and stay failed...
