Etymotic ER4XR

It's not like my other earphones but it's really nice in its own way. Is it perfect? No.

Just out of five stars, I'll give the Edimotic ER-4XR solid four stars out of five.

The mid-range has a tasteful upper mid boost with a beautiful, clean presentation and plenty of detail. The treble adds plenty of air and isn't peaky or problematic. The imaging is great. The staging is pretty decent for an IEM.

Pretty good all around. They have a metal housing with that beautiful paint over the top.

I was hoping for something amazing. These did not live up to expectations. I compared them to a pair of Denon AH-C120s ($100) and a pair of Nu-Force earbuds NE800M ($90). These two earbuds produce a richer, more 3D sound sound then the Etymotic ER4XRs...almost FM sound to AM for want of a better des...

Especially for stage monitors, probably Etymotic ER2XR, ER3XR, and ER4XR. Shooting earplugs that also play music and happened to be tuned very well. Of course, this list isn't exhaustive.

I have used high-end Etymotic ear buds for many years, and I have often found myself wanting just a tiny bit more bottom. But these ER4XR's just go too far. I'm in it for the precision, and one good way to detect precision is to listen to speaking human voices, and voices through ER4XR are just unac...

The primary purpose is basically to be a studio reference for mastering track, ever since then I have no issue about ER4XR at all. In the matter fact is it's very good in overall performance that be able to properly monitoring accurately. Thus, so far the mixes that I did were pretty good. Recently, someone put the brand new Moondrop Blessing 2 and it's still have the warranty selling at the relatively bargain price about 245USD which about the same as Etymotic ER4XR.

If a detachable driver needs replacement you must purchased an entire new unit. You can;t just buy a replacement driver.
