They're versatile and you can slap these flats, which is interesting because to me with flat one strings, it's very important that the tension be low.  These were on my secondary bass that I played here and there when I didn't want the weight of my 6 string. Tone is amazing but I'm not so sure if the build quality is poor or inconsistent. Very unfortunate. I will look at getting a replacement

Compared to DR Legends (thumbs up), Rotosounds, or Chromes (which I don’t even like), these feel cheap, esp. for the money. Maybe they’re your thing, and that’s cool! They just didn’t work at all for me

 But only had them on for a week then the G string broke during sound check for a gig last night. I have never had a bass string break before. So I had to relearn the set list on the fly with only using 3 strings.

I really like these strings. They have a firm feel without the stiffness that some flatwounds have. They also sound great on my Carvin SB5000. They might be a little more $$$ than other flatwounds but give them a try

  Update: Amazon just sent me a replacement set and all is well. 5 stars for these strings. Highly recommended.

 The only reason for the 4 star review (see the picture) is that on the D string just ahead of the bridge pick-up it appears there is separation between the wrap. I put these on two days ago and find this on the first gig I played. It doesn't seem to affect the tone but I wonder how long will the string last before I have to replace it. Unfortunately no one seems to sell single strings only sets

 They sound far more ike rough wounds with out the super high end. They're punchy and bright, not dead at all. I imagine round wound player would love them. Really versatile strings

These sound really amazing

These are interesting strings. They reside somewhere between "normal" flats and round wounds. They are brighter and have a bit more sustain than something like LaBella flats. They seem to hold that brightness for quite a while, so if you're looking for that dead motown sound these might not be what you're looking for (or at least it takes a while for them to die down)

They don't require as much of a truss rod adjustment as the LaBellas as their tension is closer to roundwounds. You can even slap them and they sound OK

Interesting strings - their own sound

  Their defining characteristic (since they'll all pretty much give you some sort of old-school thump), is their feel. I've never felt such slinky, smooth, and just fun flats. Sonically, they're awesome -- they do a great job of maintaining a good dash of mid and high spectra which giving you a warm low-end.  Highly highly recommend
