The kettle showed no damage from our abuse testing and cleaned up nicely. We wish the interior were lighter, but otherwise this is a lovely, sturdy (but not heavy) kettle, which comes in a rainbow of colors at a moderate price.

Not without its flaws - such as taking twice as long to boil on gas as an equivalent electric kettle; doesn't always whistle as loudly as it could, but beautiful to look at, capacious yet balanced and ergonomic in the hand and feels like it will outlast me! Certainly not for those in a hurry - but if you can wait 10 minutes instead of 5 and are fed up tossing plastic alternatives into landfill every 18 months - this is a great solution.

BEWARE - Handle & whistle spout cover are too hot to handle

Fabulous when new, wears relatively well.

 I'm following instructions, (yes, there are instructions), by NOT keeping water in it when it is not in use. It also says to use it on a burner that is smaller than the base of the kettle, which makes perfect sense. Don't turn the flame up way too high over the sides and the finish will continue to look new and beautiful. I've read other reviews on all kinds of enameled tea kettles in which people have expressed there dissatisfaction because it got "burned" or discolored, it rusted out, etc

Love the style and color, whistle isn’t very loud so don’t wander off when the pot is on. I rusted out my 12 yr old La Creuset kettle by not emptying it out and drying completely after use so I won’t do that again ( didn’t know that was possible so I learned the hard way) Be sure to use a potholder when removing the lid when hot due to hot steam, the handle itself stays cool. I just wish the whistle was louder on this pot ( it’s true.

Very nice teapot for the price

I bought this because I really liked the design and color and because my previous Chantal kettle lasted for 20 years before it needed to be replaced. However the shape comes with a drawback - because it has a relatively narrow base less of it comes in contact with the flame/heating element so I have noticed that it takes more time to come to a boil than my old one. Also, the lid fits a bit tightly and is a little hard to remove.

Nice tea kettle with a couple of small quibbles

 I'm following the recommended directions for taking care of it, and hope that helps it keeps its integrity. Easy to use and the whistle works well.
