The 5 Best Bridge Cameras - Spring 2022
Despite its flaws, this superzoom camera is relatively portable and still offers a lot of value for its price.

The Canon PowerShot SX70 HS only weighs 1.34lbs for the whole setup. I mostly shoot wildlife and most of the wildlife is not approachable, like grizzly bears, black bears wolves, etc. And others are really skittish like elk, antelope, wolverines. So a long reach is a must and light weight helps a lot when you are hiking around in the Rocky Mountains.

Solid bridge camera
I wanted to leave a review because I almost didn't buy this camera after reading the other reviews and that would have been a shame. I had the Canon SX60 but during a visit to the swamp it fell in the water and stopped working. I was heartbroken because I loved that camera. I almost bought that mode...

Versatile Camera but M doesn't really mean Manual
Update: After more than 3,000 photos, I am discovering some weaknesses. First, the wifi connection for downloading images to a pc is troublesome, and doesn't close nicely, requiring a reboot or going in to task manager on windows to stop the service before being able to reopen. It doesn't have a "mi...

Canon PowerShot SX70 HS Review
But it does lose the hot shoe, and Canon inexplicably left out a touch screen. The bright points outweigh these complaints, and we're naming the SX70 HS as our Editors' Choice, just as we did with the SX60 HS. It's a solid choice for families, backyard wildlife watchers, vacationers, and others looking for a lightweight camera with a wide zoom range, and will net very good images—as long as you work within its technical limitations

What a disappointment!
Canon's new camera version the SX70 is so hard to use and understand all the features I gave up. I have a SX60 which I would give a five star rating because is so easy to maneuver around all the settings it is unbelievable compared to this new SX70. I worked for hours to get it to do the same thing ...

Great!
This is the 5 th power shot that I have owned over many years. I loved my SX30, I made a mistake buying the SX50 (I need the viewfinder and the tilt screen. I have not put the camera through all its paces but it has worked out well so far. The grip is great, a little heavier than what I am used to, ...

Its Good But Not a Significant Improvement over SX60
Long time user of Powershots SX 40 SX60 and SX70 and was expecting more from this upgrade to the SX60 - clearly the 4K video and macro closeup capabilities are improved and for me that's enough to justify keeping it as I have an old SX60 for a second camera and even the SX40 works fine - just noisy....

Canon PowerShot SX70 HS
The Canon PowerShot SX70 HS is a bridge camera with a built-in zoom lens. It has an incredibly long focal length, letting you capture everything from wide-angle landscapes to far-away subjects and close-ups. Despite its zoom lens, the camera feels lightweight and comfortable to use, with a simple menu system and decently sturdy construction
