Your tips for decluttering before a cross country move?
Also have a scheduled thrift store pick up for anything that can't sell that you don't want to move with you ready and call them in advance since these scheduled pickups can book up fast -- this will help save you the cost of having to haul things to the thrift store or dump yourself, etc. If you have local friends/family, see if there's anything you can give them that they'll appreciate -- I was a starving scholar and so were my friends so when there were some things that couldn't sell, I asked if my friends would want these things, which included both practical things as well as things like board games. The other thing I learned is depending on the type of cookware you use, the teflon coating will start wearing away after a few years so even if you love your cookware and it was expensive and still looks nice, this sort of stuff is generally good to replace after a few years anyway (advice doesn't apply to cast-iron stuff etc.). Popular brands (i.e., Cuisinart, Calphalon, etc.)
