Boyue Likebook Muses

This is a really, really modern device. It feels really 2019-esque.

I personally have a Likebook Muses, a Chinese device that runs Android. It can download Android apps like a good browser, onedrive, feedly, moon+ reader, instapaper, the library reader app etc. It's more expensive than usual ereaders but the extra functionality is worth it to be, and I don't mind de-DRMing my kindle books or fiddling with optimisation settings.

Onyx Boox or Boyue Likebook devices, probably, would be the best fit for your needs. They run Android, so they can work like tablets basically.

Android ereaders. Look up Onyx Boox (my pref, they also have a subreddit r/Onyx_Boox), Boyue Likebook/Meebook, Bigme, Xiaomi etc.

Boox and Meebook/Likebook are the easiest 2 to get a hold of on the international market.

Wow that's cheap. I have an older Boyue Likebook Muses (7.8" screen) and I paid $325 for that two years ago. Love the note taking feature on it.

I have a Boyue Likebook Muses, great experience in the 2 years since I got it.

Pocketbook is another brand that has SD cars slots. I've never had to use one though, book files are so tiny it's not needed for most people.

I have a Likebook Muses, same software, maths textbooks rendered fine.

I rarely used the default reader app though.
