 So I'm going to dial up a crunch tone and get a bit more boost out of this. So first my crunch tone. One, two, three. And while we still have it I'm just going to pile on the gain and let's get a real kind of woofy, meat driven sound

 And the one thing, even the most BOSS hating person on the planet has to admit if they can be objective in anyway, they last! They are physically built like a tank. The pots are sturdy, box is solid etc. The wiring is excellent too. You will read horror stories (as you would with even most boutique pedals)

 They exploded in the 80s and 90s. Sure they have always had their few essential pedals but they make their own version of everything under the sun. And the one thing, even the most BOSS hating person on the planet has to admit if they can be objective in anyway, they last! They are physically built like a tank. The pots are sturdy, box is solid etc

 Dozens. But you are not going to find a more reliable and good overall distortion pedal that the ds-1.

 The wiring is excellent too. You will read horror stories (as you would with even most boutique pedals).. but for the norm you can always rely on a Boss pedal

Can't go wrong with Boss. There's a reason famous names have Boss only pedal boards

 Sounds quite nice, had a bit of tone as well. Tone is at three o'clock now. I have to say I wasn't expecting much and I got way more than I expected. It's not my cup of tea, I'll be honest about that, but it does sound quite nice

 OK, so like I said, I'm taking a look at the DS2 Boss Turbo Distortion Turbo. It must be more and more is more. So that's good. It has a level tone and a distortion knob and it has two modes, where one is Turbo

 I have to say I wasn't expecting much and I got way more than I expected. It's not my cup of tea, I'll be honest about that, but it does sound quite nice. And I could see myself using it in some settings, but yeah, it's not entirely my cup of tea. It does sound, the turbo mode sounds like it has some kind of wah thing going on, so like you were standing on a wall in a certain position

Honestly, you could buy a better distortion pedal than this, im not exaggerating when i say the built in distortion in my guitar amp (i got my amp for $150) is better than this external pedal, no bottom end whatsoever even when i have an eq pedal as well to boost the bottom end, it doesnt do hardly anything. I found it to be more of a fuzz pedal than anything but if that doesnt worry you then go ahead and buy it but if you want a good distortion tone for your guitar buy another distortion pedal. Idc what the other reviews say about how great it is, it did me no favors

 In front of a clean channel you get some nice tones out of it but as well with some lacking highs. Mode 2 did a better job overall and sounded pretty good. I especially like the mode 2 in front of the distorted amp. It has this particular chainsaw vibe I really like but more tameable with less noise

 Yeah, let's start with mode 1. It didn't give me much in the FX loop as well as in front of the distorted amp. I think it sounds ok but a little bit dull. Your amp's EQ should compensate those lacking highs though in the FX loop

Pedal Vault – Boss Turbo Distortion DS-2 Pedal review

..you have to keep that treble way down, otherwise it gets too thin and fizzy. I'm using it to replace my TS-9, as it's old and not reliable anymore, plus, I've never been a fan of the clean-blend circuitry

Not a bad pedal...not sure it's worth the $$$
