I've been cycling with a borrowed bicycle for some months and would like to buy a gravel bike which is capable for diversity and adventure.

What i'm looking for:

\- Would still ride plenty on the road since a lot of my mates have road bikes only.

\- Would like to broaden my playfield with some forest trips

\- Have an idea on bikepacking for +/-5 days from belgium to west of france in 2 months (I know of the shortage so could be a problem that's why it's still an idea)

\- range 1500-2000 euros

Gravel bikes I found:

\- Rose backroad AL GRX RX 600 1x11 2021  
\- Cannondale Topstone 1  
\- Canyon Grail 6 (or 7?)  
\- Ridley Kanzo A  
\- Specialized Diverge Elite E5

\- Possible to buy the new Grizl with smaller tyres, would that become a challenger?

Or maybe there are other gems you guys recommend?

I've compared them with eachother on the 99spokes site (great website btw!) but there are alot of similarities and I'm still new to the bicycle gear world and would love some help)

Looking for my perfect gravel bike

First Ride with my new Beauty

BMC URS: Frame felt great and light and responsive but still comfortable. I was told this frame and feel is similar to what the Evo in the proper size might feel like.

Crack at the drop out. The bike shop is making a warrantee claim with BMC. Which I think means Zyrofisher (UK distributor of BMC) will be handling it? Any experiences out there? Any chance I can get a benefit from this? I'm crying about my favourite bike cracking :'(

Pre-pandemic I'd ridden for a few years on a borrowed Trek 1.5 road bike

I've been looking for a do-it-all gravel bike for day trips, adventure rides, and occasional commuting. Not currently interested in racing, just want fun exercise!

Some priorities/preferences:

1. Full carbon, or well-engineered alloy

2. GRX / 105 groupset, or better

3. Tubeless (compatibility, at least)

4. Suitable for tall rider (6'4")

Current considerations:

* Boardman ADV 9.0, £1800

* Cannondale Topstone Alloy 1, £2000

* Canyon Grail AL 7, £2000

* (New) Canyon Grizl CF SL 7, £2500

* Giant Revolt 0, £1800


Canyon seems to have a good reputation, but are more expensive of these options.

Giant seems to be coping better with stock shortages.

Boardman comes at a 10% discount with British Cycling membership and accessories (lock + lights).

Advice/thoughts on these options?

Are the higher priced options really worth it, despite being similar spec on paper?
