Bialetti Moka Express

Hey guys,. I brewed my first espresso today in a bialetti moka pot (4 cup) using Lavazza espresso coffee grounds and boy was it bitter. It was just too bitter and had a little bit burnt smell even when i kept the flame on low.

I've seen and used a Bialetti Moka before, so I wasn't entirely new to this. The larger capacity one I had used was either a 6 or 9 cup--I can't recall. The media could not be loaded. Hoping I can get a refund. This product is clearly defective and potentially non-authentic. I wiped off rust and corrosion this morning. What you see in the video is after wiping it away. Doesn’t seem safe at all.

I finally upgraded from a simple Moka pot... I have this paired with a Cuisinart Supreme burr grinder. I may or may not have had about 9 espresso shots today alone...

Love it. But the handle broke after a few uses. Not sure if this is a consistent issue or I just got a defective one.

Classic Italian Bialetti moka pot. The grounds are easier to dispose of and the rest needs just a quick rinse. They brew amazing coffee.
