I'm keeping it because it's incredibly hard to find the nice potato masher my mother had. I wish they would stop tampering with excellent products that people already like; because now they are impossible to find. So, it's a little small, and there's plastic or glue at the end of the rod facing the head that fills up the hole of the rod. As noted in most amazon.com reviews, this stainless-steel masher is very strong and well-made. However, I find the uncoated/uncushioned handle to be slippery and uncomfortable to use. In addition, if I position the end of the handle in my palm to push down hard on, say, chunks of under-ripe avocado or banana, the terminal edges of the cylinder are sharp and leave marks on my palm

Best I have managed to find but not as good as the one I bought years ago which finally wore through where the head meets the sides. I wish the top of the handle was rounded though as it digs into my palm when mashing the potatoes.
