But it's nothing you need. I just use the projector on my wall and it looks great. So those are my thoughts on this projector

If you’re set on Benq then look at the X1300i or TK850. Those would work much better for a backyard projector. Otherwise, there are a few 1080p projectors like the Optoma HZ39HDR that would probably work really well because of how bright they get.

If a new projector is more your speed, take a look at the [BenQ It would be fine for home theater/TV usage, but it's primary use case is gaming and it does that extremely well. It's just about at your budget as well.

When not using HDR the picture is great but with HDR it’s bad the projector is locked to an 8bit signal no matter what I do even though it’s advertised as 10 bit so I get really bad colour banding if HDR would work properly would give 5 stars I have the projector hooked to ps5 so it’s not the source...

the x1300i, TK700STi, TH685(i) and TH585. The x1300i and TK700STi seem very nice for gaming, but clearly too heavy and too big. The TH685(i) and TH585 are a bit more portable, but still 2.8 kg (6.2 lbs), and their lamps need to be regularly replaced. Of course, Optoma and Epson also have low input lag projectors, but they are also either too heavy and often have lamps which need to be regularly replaced.

The image quality is excellent when set up properly (avoid off-axis projection) and it can go pretty bright, which makes it usable even during the day.
