AT-LPW40WN at $379 is too pricey since the better [Drop + Audio-Technica Carbon version is only $20 more that adds VTA adjustment and replaces some plastic parts with metal. A better value is the [Fluance $299 that adds auto stop. Pass on the older RT80 and RT81 that lack the new speed sensor that the RT82 has for low wow and flutter and low speed variation. Pass on the RT83 since the cartridge is not any better.

Great turntable! Easy to set up, very quiet, built in phono pre-amp, nice tone arm. The included VM95E cartridge sounds great to my ears. Almost perfect! I have 2 very small point of contention. 1. Recently bought at-lpw40wn, and noticed very worrying thing: strong, noticible wobbling. It wasn't warped record (can't all records be warped), so thought of returning the unit. However, decided to change the rubber mat it comes with to new one.

This turntable works exactly as described. It has no manual speed adjustment, but the internal sensor makes that unnecessary. I tested the unit, and the speed is dead on. I wish the unit had USB output, but I knew it was not present when I purchased the turntable. All in all, I'm satisfied.

I’m using a Audio technica Lpw40wn and it’s performance for such a cheap turntable is pretty astounding. I’ve been happy for the few months I’ve been into this.

Easy to set up but I didn’t even try it with the cartridge that it came with. Probably would be fine but I was looking for a home for a Shure M97xe I had and this is really a great sounding rig!
