 Hey guys today, we're gonna be looking at an Amazon basics shredder. Alright, so let's find out if this kind of shredder is right for you So If you need a shredder this might be a good one here because this is something that an average office can use so it takes Maximum of six sheets which is pretty reasonable and also it chews up larger things like cards and maybe other Similar thickness of items right here in the middle So if you have a home office or a small office that you know, you're not constantly grinding paper. This is a great choice So so we've had ours for a few years and it's been working great ever since with no issues whatsoever So let's take a look at the control here. So we have auto off and Reverse if you put it on auto what's gonna happen is, you know, it's got like a little sensor Once you put your sheet in there, it'll automatically start grinding it So that is the only option is the auto obviously so but if you do get jammed or whatever You could you know Hit it in reverse to try to spook it back out as long as we don't put more than six sheets It seems to do fine, but sometimes with six sheets that are thicker, you know start crinkling and it might get stuck then So sometimes it's better just to put like four and it always do great So if you do have children though, you know, you might want to turn it off once in a while here There's no way to lock it from working So, you know you kind of have to monitor that but but on auto it seems to do very well And you know, it's convenient

 So having that window there is nice and that's actually a reminder that I need to dump this shredder. But yeah, if you care about better protecting yourself, you probably want to shred stuff. I mean, better yet, if you shred it, then you may want to burn it too. Who knows? It's a matter of how sensitive your information is

AmazonBasics 6-Sheet High-Security Micro-Cut Shredder Review After Two Years Using

This is definitely a big step up from my old shredder (which was an inexpensive diamond cut shredder that was several years old and getting very loud when in use). This Amazon one is really quiet (but not silent) when shredding and the micro cut shreds that it produces provide top notch security for your documents. The storage bin holds a lot of shredded material, I also like that it can also shred credit cards and CD/DVDs (although not in micor cuts). The shredder seems well built and the rollers on the base make it fairly maneuverable too

A bit pricey, but a very good shredder

Shredder won't stop running?  It's an easy fix!

Pretty good with a couple of caveats

 Could be taller - desk height would be nice, but it's still taller and easier to use that our older shredders. And, yeah, having a way to empty it into a bag would be nicer still..
