Definitely Dora’s the job. For the price it’s really a great deal. Would like it to make less noise and not get hot so soon. But aside from that it’s a decent shredder for a small home office but it’s definitely not heavy duty

On a budget, this shredder met my needs and handled most paperwork without any major issues. Sure, it jammed from time to time but I’ve had similar experiences with shredders in this price range so I was not bothered by that.

The only reason that I did not give it but four stars is that the on/off slide feels cheap. Fortunately, I do not have to operate this slide very often.

We have found that small shredders are frequently noisier than some of their larger counterparts. It's true with the tiny yet loud Swingline Style+, as it is with the 8-Sheet Strip-Cut Shredder. Rated at 70 decibels (dB)—the same as the Style+—it is distinctly louder than the AmazonBasics 17-Sheet High-Security Micro-Cut Paper, CD, and Credit Card Shredder, rated at 65dB, which we tested at the same time.

Constant usage, usually about thirty minutes, will cause it to overheat (we end up doing that a lot because we don't shred as often as we should). When it overheats we take the shredder off of the basket and put it crosswise on the basket so air can circulate around it better. If we're impatient, we put a large ice pack on top of the shredder to help with the cooling (cold air sinks, so the air falls into the motor). Other than dusty, it looks and acts today like it did when we got it

I like how it shreds in short strips and I've used it to cut up some old debit/credit cards as well. Fast and easy to use. It does cut off after 30 minutes of continuous usage for safety reasons, but is ready to go again after waiting another 30 minutes for it to cool down. So, if you have a bunch of papers to shred, probably do it a little at a time and shred as much as possible in the 30 minutes and wait a few minutes before attempting again so it doesn't overheat with continuous use
