 For under twenty bucks at Staples on-line I purchased an APC Surge Protector (Model P3U3) that includes 3 a/c outlets, 3 USB ports, a small form charging stand, 1080 Joules, Led Lights confirming a solid ground connection and whether or not the unit is working, and a 6' grounded plug and cable. For me it packs flatter, yes it weighs one lb. but it protects all 3 a/c outlets and 3 USB ports. Actually, the cable and grounded plug weigh more than the APC unit

 But it should plug into just about any grounded duplex receptacle or line tap that fellow airline travelers might have plugged into an existing Air Terminal Duplex. I find the APC more practical and it certainly looks better, black or white. What do I plug into it? A Netbook (A/C), iPad Mini and iPhone (USB or A/C) and usually a couple of devices of my wife's. For me the APC works much better

A Practical Alternative to a Travel Surge Protector

 Seems to work, but isn't rated as such so buyer beware.  The last travel charger I can compare to is:  Tripp Lite TRAVELER3USB Notebook Surge Protector USB Charger 3 Outlet 540 Joule - also discontinued. The newer version that they recommend is SK30USB, which is the same exact charger as this Accell, with a different look. The older TRAVELER3USB isn't something I'd recommend

 Great design.  The wall plug itself is a mixed bag. On the plus, it's collapsible. Makes a difference when packing

Great travel charger, packs well and can charge an iPad at near full speed via USB

Don't waste your money. The build quality of the side sockets is horrible. The contacts for the prongs aren't aligned with the openings on the housing, so instead of making contact with the side of the prong it just blocks the prong from getting in at all.  I've bought two and both had the same problem

  ***Update 21 March 2016***  Reducing this to 4 stars because I bought this in August of 2015 and now just 7 or 8 months later 2 of the outlets are loose. I do not pull on my cords from afar and I do not rip the cords out of the sockets. So I am disappointed that within less than a year this has become so useless. :/ Not sure if this is just my unit or other people are having similar issues

An excellent tool for travelers

5 stars if it swiveled! Otherwise works great charging iPad2 and iPhones 5c and 5s. Small and lightweight. When I replace this one, it will be for a unit that swivels. In 2 months time, I've had several situations where I could not plug it in as it did not swivel
