Vitamix 5200 vs Vitamix Professional Series 750

Breville products - after replacing all sorts of items breville hold up. Their larger counter top oven gets 3-4x/week use and nearly never use the “regular” oven any longer.

So this review is not a verified Amazon purchase but I do indeed own a 750. That being said, I understand why Vitamix blenders are top of the line. There are now three of us in the extended family that have Vitamix blenders (the 750 and the 320). Both blenders are powerhouses that can accomplish all of the tasks as advertised and will, over-all, out perform any other blender on the market

It can easily make bar-quality crushed ice, almond butter, and smoothies, and it can even hot blend. However, this blender is pretty straightforward, and it doesn't have a Pulse mode or any preset modes. It also isn't dishwasher-safe, but it's still quite easy to clean by hand.

Better practice would be to make all movement clockwise (or all movement cc) as this would put both studs of the pair in play for each lock-unlock episode ( and reduce the wear on the otherwise solo stud by a significant percentage).. The BEST PRACTICE, however, which might be a little hard to swallow or ordain in the instructions, would be to make all movement clockwise on odd days of the month, and all movement cc on even days of the month. OK, you think I'm nuts, so let me explain

If I base the durability rating off of the earlier mdl blender I would have to give it a 5 star rating, the newer mdl I have only had for a month so can't comment on that one yet. Would I recommend the Vitamix blender to a friend, you bet!

However, in order to use it for dry ingredients, you have to purchase a dry blade for it. For the price, it should have come with it. I liked it but it didn't fully serve the needs of my lifestyle. I took it back and bought a cheaper brand that I could use for dry ingredients

Tried this years ago with a crummy ninja and the blades got stuck in the sides of the container. Had to throw everything out and the few times prior to that that I succeeded a little bit I had to use a blender to finish. There is no comparison between this and the garbage ninja brand, this wins big time bad by and unbelievable margin hard to believe anything is this good. Received my 7500 Reconditioned and the first thing I noticed was the variable speed knob seems to have zero effect to the speed of the blades. I read the manual, followed the steps to 'reset' and still nothing. I have not had a great experience so far with Vitamix customer service. The first rep told me this was totally normal (which I've watched enough demo videos of this model to know that it is not, also just visited a friend yesterday with a Next Gen and their variable speeds work as expected)

They emailed me a UPS label and let me ship (free)the mechine to repair. Only a week, fixed and returned it to me. No questioon, no more a word. Simple, easy, quick

$400. Apparently it can make soups? WTF? I will not use this feature. I am too conservative. Hence why I like that it has simple controls (unlike the stupid oven)

Yes, I expected noisy but this is more like noisy I expect it to come flying apart at any minute. It also still has a burning smell to it when you turn it on. As someone who is intimately familiar with what burning electronics smells like, this thing smells like burning. I get the distinct impression Vitamix was trying to cut as much cost out of the product as possible to increase margins

The self-cleaning function works well, though it's even louder than the blender itself, but it's easy to clean even without it. We're very pleased with its functionality, but find we need to warn each other from across the house before using it, it's so loud!

Disappointed with the 5200 Blender. Purchased the 4500 Vitamix in the late 90's and it just now stop working. This newer model has terrible blending/juicing power. Not sure what the problem is but I wish I would have purchased the 4500 Vitamix again

I loved my old blender (Velaware - no longer in production it seems) but this Vitamix surpasses it hands down! Super powerful!! The instructions says “don’t worry, crank it up to 10” and I can see why! It is so powerful that you wonder if it’s ok to do so. Any other blender, I’d worry the motor may burn out! I am really looking forward to trying out many recipes. And even the soups apparently this blender is capable of making.
