Had my eyes set on the Union Falcor bindings because it fits my riding style quite nicely: really liked the stiffness and responsiveness that I was reading about because I ride a lot of trees and such and don't like the delay before movements. I also really liked how the mini disk provided a bit of cushion until like the other freeride bindings I've seen.

I wouldn't go as soft as the Strata for a board like the Mercury, but that's because I see it as a board to ride all over the mountain, even on some harder lines that benefit from more response. The Cartel X, or the Union Atlas, seem like overkill, though. Too stiff for a do-it-all deck like the Merc. Personally, I'd go Union Force, Burton Cartel, Nitro Team, Ride C-6, Rome Katana

As for me, I’m selling mine. The Strata with the team HB is a great binding, it just works.

I would not consider a large Union Binding until 10.5 or 11. My set up is size medium Union Falcor Bindings with size 10 DC Shuksan boots.
