 These are ovens with a fan (convection) that can give you pretty good smoke flavors using pellets that need to be about 70% oak and 30% flavored wood (soaked in flavored oils I guess) so that the burn is cleaner with little ash left on your food. You are told to use Traeger for this reason, and I will. They claim other cheaper brands may have bark or not enough oak (for clean burn) and I don't see a big enough difference in price to argue about it. You want the thin blue smoke, not white puffs, so burn what they tell you to burn is my thought

 The probe seems clumsy and is designed for a larger payload, and temperatures vary when setting absolute temperatures, it all leaves you wanting wireless options which could have been added easily and are conspicuously absent. I am new to both pellet smokers and to Traegers , but consistently overcook meats in this thing to the point of doubting either the thermostat, prove or the recipes I’ve chosen. Most recipes, even for traegers involve much larger pieces of meat and only mention per pound equivalents as an afterthought, but their may be some advice that will give me a generality of some kind for smoking in this unit that will even out results. I will continue to reinvent the wheel until I get Ranger specific recipes and hopefully more consistent results

I haven't had any issues whatsoever, and I find keeping it stored in the garage, and carrying outside when needed is a really convenient arrangement for me. I would not recommend keeping it inside your house, unless you want the house to smell like barbecue all the time. Just remember to let the grill to go through its cool down cycle before powering down, and always give yourself plenty of time to let the grill cool off before you pick it up and carry it.

I find that it's extremely simple to use this grill. You could not engineer a more simple electronic grilling device. It is easy to clean, the pellets burn at a reasonably slow rate, and the flavors are just epic. I highly recommend pairing this grill with the traeger brand seasonings

 So I'm gonna need to figure out a way to get them to stay on there But it just helps for it not to slide around Got our power cord Now I'm gonna show you the inside of this thing real quick and then we'll get it plugged up Comes with two latches that keeps it closed This is a little grease trap that goes on the back side That catches the grease as it flows down this but I want to show you the inside first because I do need to clean out the ash from our last grill And you can see we got some still got some pellets in there got some ash a little bit of ash around I'm going to take our blower and I'm gonna blow this out real good Nice we got all of it cleaned out a few pellets came Came flying but Throw those back in there. Believe me, but this thing turns your average Joe into a grill master almost but This is a catches your grease runoff

You can't put a full packer in there, but you could possibly separate them and cook separately

 Amazon was great and I had gone past 30 day window but it was a warranty issue with Traeger and they refunded my money, no sweat. I gave the Ranger and Traeger help desk every chance possible and they both failed. If you order one, chances are it will not work properly. Check it out the controller BEFORE YOU FIRE IT UP to make your return easy and return it immediately
