 I really enjoy every sound you can get out of this and the combinations between the two. After that, you sort of have another sort of sound or quality behind the reverb, which is you can have a modulated reverb, you can have your normal reverb, or you can have a shimmer reverb. Three different sounds, so you can have each of those three I just mentioned along with the plate, the normal, and the room reverb or spring reverb. So there's several combinations there

 And I think that's a great reverb. Back in the day, literally there would be a spring inside of the amp or inside the thing to create that sound, and that's where this kind of came from. And I think it sounds good. The sounds you get with this thing are great

 And so, whenever I was building my pedal board, I think it was like one of the first ones I bought, just because even though it was expensive, it's like $300, you know. Even a couple years ago, it was still $300, and it's nice that it's kind of stayed the same. That's sort of one of the things, if you know a pedal is good or not, if you look at it over time and the price has changed or the prices dropped, you know, that probably means or the prices went up, you know. There's different signs there, and always do your research, see what people say, but this pedal is great, and it's sort of just maintained quality through a while, and pretty much all the Strymon stuff is like that

Strymon Blue Sky Pedal Review

 Hey guys, welcome back to my YouTube channel.

 If you're new here, I do just regular guitar videos on gear and some lessons here and there

 And I just try to have fun along the way.

 So today we're going to be talking about the Strymon Blue Sky.

 So overall, you have two main knobs, which is your decay or the size of the reverb.

 And then you have your mix, which is sort of the amount of reverb you hear mixed with

 So you have your reverb sound and you have your dry, just your straight signal.

 And your mix controls the amount of blend between the two.

 Beneath those, you have three smaller knobs, you have your low damp, which would control

 sort of the darker sounds that come from the reverb.

 And then you have your pre-delay and then you have your high damp, which is the amount

 Now the pre-delay is the amount of time between the initial dry signal and when the reverb

 So if you have it sort of on zero, then the reverb and the delay or the reverb and the

 dry signal will happen at the same time.

 But the more you turn that up, the further away basically that reverb sound will get.

 So the dry will come first, then the reverb will come next.

 After that, you have six other settings and some combinations that you can do between

 You have your normal reverb, you have your plate reverb, and you have a spring reverb.

 Three basic kind of reverbs, all really great reverbs within this pedal.

 I really enjoy every sound you can get out of this and the combinations between the two.

 After that, you sort of have another sort of sound or quality behind the reverb, which

 is you can have a modulated reverb, you can have your normal reverb, or you can have a

 One of the cool things about this pedal is you can turn on the pedal and have one signal,

 and then you can have a second signal saved, which is your favorite.

 So basically, you can't have two at the same time, but you can have one, and then if you

 all of a sudden need to switch over to another one, sort of like Preece or right in the middle

 of a song or something, then you just click that favorite and you can switch over.

 Normally, I have my favorite set to like this really huge reverb sound, so I can do sort

 And then the regular is just usually just a normal reverb.

 I've switched the favorite for different songs where like maybe mid-song I need to switch

 to something or like mid-set where I don't have time to fiddle with the settings a lot.

 I might switch, I might favorite something else.

 But normally I just have it on that huge pad sort of reverb sound where the guitar just

 sounds sort of like a MIDI keyboard kind of thing.

 So I'm going to just play around with it a little bit and just get some different sounds

 and tell you guys what I'm doing with it while that's happening.

 So right now, literally everything is set to noon.

 Here's just like a straight A chord without the reverb, and here's with the reverb.

 And that's just a normal reverb, everything set to noon.

 Now here's what it would sound like if I changed it to a plate reverb.

 Almost a little brighter, has a little lift on the end I think.

 Back in the day, literally there would be a spring inside of the amp or inside the thing

 to create that sound, and that's where this kind of came from.

 The sounds you get with this thing are great.

 Whatever setting you click it on, there's a reason why this pedal is really popular

 because pretty much whatever you set it on, it sounds good.

 I mean, just straight everything at noon, I mean, I could jive with that.

 I don't love my guitar tone right now coming out of this, but that's partly because I'm

 So here's what the pre-delay sounds like all the way up.

 Hear how the reverb definitely has a huge space in there?

 Now here's what it sounds like when the pre-delay is on zero.

 I like a little bit of, it's not a straight 50-50.

 Maybe like, I have it set, let's see, if 6 o'clock is like right here, I have it set

 like right there, so maybe like, I don't know, 4 or 5 o'clock.
