 Honestly, even though the Inkosi has thicker blade stock I never felt the Sebenza to be lacking in toughness. My recommendation is always to try to get a Sebenza 21 on the secondary market if you can. They are vastly superior to the 31 and Inkosi. If you can’t find one, then go for the 31

I am looking at picking up my first Chris Reeve knife.  Currently I am gravitating to a Inkosi because of the build quality, but also looking at a Sebenza 31.  As to size, I want to go with the large size with a tanto, but I like the Insingo shape too. 

Use: light use, not in the field any more but wanted something with great build quality. 

Any feed back or recommendations?

 Every day of Chris’s 20+ year knifemaking career shows with this knife – absolutely no stone has gone unturned here. I am impressed with the Umnumzaan and recommend it if you like the knife and can get around the price tag.

This Umnumzaan comes with a tanto blade shape. This was actually a special limited run of the knife that is completely sold out. The Umnumzaan traditionally has a drop point blade. Truth be told, I’m a bigger fan of the drop point version, but I couldn’t resist this unique tanto shape

 What does that mean? That doesn't mean that they screw up because they can't see anything. What it means is that the the physical look of the knife, the aesthetics, the prettiness of the knife is secondary. It's not that important. Having said that, we kind of like the way pretty much all their knives look, so it's kind of an unusual thing to say, but that's that's their commitment to quality

 Today we're talking about: Oh man, you guys know this. If you're watching this video, you probably know this. It's one of the most iconic and well-known names in the history of knife making. Literally, you guys know the Spyderco is I mean I Haven't heard many bad things about Spyderco

 The last thing I will tell you is that it is one of the absolute best knives to have if you can get it. Now if you guys are into collecting, I mean you already know this. I'm just I'm just telling you something I Think you already know. But just for those of you who have been living under a rock and you don't actually know this, this knife is kind of a must-have starting point linchpin cornerstone of your collection

Spyderco Paramilitary 2 review

  you get great steel for the price too, for such a large blade in S30V, compared to some other companies using S30V in their blades *cough* Benchmade *cough*, you get much more of the premium steel for the blade and the blade is pretty dang chunky compared to the other Spyderco mainstays like the Delica/Endura.  The blade comes uncomfortably sharp from the factory and being that its S30V, it will be moderately easy to keep it that sharp. Ive cut myself already on this blade. I slipped while cutting something, and I felt it scratch against my thumb

  The only thing that I can really complain about is that the main weakness of the compression lock is keeping a blade closed. It is solid as a rock open since you would have to somehow cause about 1/5" of steel to literally snap for it to close, but there isnt much pressure keeping the blade closed besides a bearing in a groove. I can get the blade to deploy by vigorously shaking the knife, which surprised me at first. Because of that, I exercise extra caution with this blade since I carry it tip up

 it allows you to quickly flip open and closed the blade with very little effort, yet the lockup is extremely strong, so there is no worry of the knife closing on you on accident, unless you do something stupid, like bash the blade with a sledgehammer. I like the compression lock so much that I havent actually used the spyderhole to open the blade in a long time.  you get great steel for the price too, for such a large blade in S30V, compared to some other companies using S30V in their blades *cough* Benchmade *cough*, you get much more of the premium steel for the blade and the blade is pretty dang chunky compared to the other Spyderco mainstays like the Delica/Endura. 5 inches, I find it to be a hair too big for me since im used to carrying 3" blades like the Benchmade Emissary or the Delica since im a small guy. Im usually fine with up to 3.25" blades, but 3.5" just feels a bit out of place for me

Very Impressive

 What makes this knife so pricey is the fantastic blade steel and "Made in U.S.A" status. Overall unless you have to have an American made Knife I would look at their Taiwanese and Japanese or even Chinese made knives first if you can get over the inferior materials

Great knife, but a little overhyped in my opinion

 But it's now over a decade old, and knife-making has come a long way. I'm here to tell you about why this might not be the right fit for some people's daily carry anymore.  1. In the past few years there's been a renewed focus in the knife industry on making smaller, lighter knives that carry better and are thinner behind the edge

  5. They develop a some vertical and horizontal blade play after breaking in, due to the way that the compression lock works. This is especially true if you want the pivot and stop pin loose enough to be fidget friendly, and who doesn't want that? It's not a huge amount of play, but it's more than most of the other knives I own.  6

 It's not bad, but I'm not impressed.  The bottom line is that, for me, the PM2 is just too chunky for an everyday utility knife. In it's quest to do everything, the PM2 doesn't excel at anything in particular. I have other knives that are better for my needs in suburban/urban carry, camping, or tactical-last-ditch use

 Love it. Everyone should have one. This is my dedicated package opening knife that sits on my desk. 

Lightning OTF. Goddamn if this isn’t one of the best $30 I ever spent. It’s like 8 years old, been beat on, and still fires hard every time. This sits on top of my fridge as a dedicated Amazon package knife

 Anytime someone asks for a recommendation on their first “nice” knife, this is it. Cant beat the material and quality for the money anywhere IMO. 

Crkt m16 or something. I hate this knife. If the blade were any less centered it would be poking out the scale. Enough lockstick to almost require pliers to close

 Strap in, this is gonna be a long review.  Upon receiving this knife my heart was pounding. I haven't been this excited in a long while. Technically, I'm an adult (28) but I still occasionally get excited over things

..  The G10 handles, as stated earlier, are beautiful. Moreover, they are functionally superior

 The grind is flawless. The black logo and wording is flawless. I'm kinda rambling on here so let's get down to the meat of this knife.

 It is beautiful. The camo scales are flawless. The satin finish is flawless. The centering and materials are flawless
